When traveler enter the gate, the first thing he see is the three large Chinese characters 长寿山 (Mountain Longevity). It is the final inscription that a 108-year-old famous contemporary calligrapher Mr. Sun Mofo created. In it traveler will visit Famous doctors, stone statue caves where the stone statues of famous ancient doctors like Huatuo, Zhang Zhongjing, Li Shizhen and others stand. These stone caves were designed by sculpture master Liu Kaiqu and the famous sculptors Zeng Zhushao and Fu Tianchou. The stone carvings of 神医石窟 (Famous Doctors' Stone Statue Caves) with bold and strong strokes were created by Wu Zuoren, a famous painter and calligrapher. In the stone forest of 寿(Longevity), there are many ? with different styles composed by calligraphers from different dynasties. The first 寿 comes from the Sacrificial Vessel Style of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Huang Qi, a famous contemporary calligrapher, wrote the first 寿 in the front. These characters are arranged orderly and rarely seen.
The most wonderful site in Mountain Longevity is Xuanyang Cave, which is 117 meters long and enjoys the reputation of “First Scenery of Mountains and Sea”.
